A SaaS Platform for Agriculture Extension.
Rootstock enables input manufacturers, governmental and non-governmental organizations to support farmers during crop cultivation. Support is typically in the form of advisories, dealer and expert connects.
Farmers are bothered by questions like, Which seed to use? What planting method to follow? Which fertilizer/pesticide to use? When and how to use them? What cultural practices to follow? Etc. They need advice at each step of a cropping cycle.
An advisory is a bundle of information covering every aspect of crop cultivation — plant propagation, plant nutrition, plant protection, and other agronomic practices. One can structure advisories for any crop species on Rootstock.
Organizations can independently structure their advisories on Rootstock. Every bit of information an organization puts in an advisory is its own.
Advisories are structured considering factors like season, location, variety, duration, soil properties, irrigation facility, farming type, target market, and others. This makes advisories farm- specific.
At the heart of Rootstock lies a comprehensive digitised agri-knowledge bank. It has text and multimedia content available in multiple Indian languages.
Farmers need to install just one mobile app to connect with any organization. They can select the organization whose advisories they prefer. Rootstock delivers them the advisories of the selected organization.
Organizations can recommend the dealers with whom the inputs suggested in the advisories are available to the farmers.
Rootstock empowers rural facilitators (youths) to promote advisories of different organizations. The facilitators can mediate the purchase/sale of inputs between farmers and dealers.
Sometimes a farmer might need to consult experts. Rootstock connects farmers with the experts of the organization whose advisory the farmer has subscribed to.
